Email for new outpatient referrals

 
 

Using email to take referrals from GPs can deal with about 50 % of referrals by either advice or investigation, reducing significantly the number of people who need to attend a clinic. 

 

 

This is a win-win situation for both patients and their GPs.

 

Many patients have their episode completed within 24 hours of referral. Waiting times for clinic appointments are reduced dramatically and the system has high safety levels in our hands.

 

 

Patient-sensitive information is transmitted and stored in an encrypted form which meets Health service specifications.
